WAHCONAH YEARBOOK

Our Yearbook staff led by advisor Mr. Jeff Pike has done an excellent job setting up a yearbook website (www.wahconahyearbook.com) for our school. This is a go-to place for ordering yearbooks, information about parent and business ads, as well as last-minute senior photo information. Check it out!

PARENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – Will return later this month!

We will be using this space on a monthly basis to provide helpful tips and insight to help bridge the gap between home and school. Some of the information shared in this section will include links to useful articles, websites, or videos.

STUDENT DROP OFF/PICKUP - Reminder

We greatly appreciate those of you who acknowledge and follow this procedure. However, it’s important to remember that the driveway directly in front of the school should remain clear for school buses only during the following times:

  • 7:20-7:50am (morning drop off)
  • 2:15-2:30pm (afternoon pick up)
  • 3:15-3:30pm (late bus pick up)

Any parents/families dropping students off or picking students up can use the car lane which can be accessed by using the last driveway in the student parking lot. Furthermore, if a bus’s lights are flashing red, that means you cannot pass it regardless of whether it has a stop sign extended from it or not. We have asked for assistance from Dalton Police (when available) to help monitor this. Thank you for your help.

ATTENDANCE/DISMISSAL REMINDERS

Please remember that the proper dismissal procedure for ill students is for the student to go to the nurse first. The nurse will examine the student and determine whether the student needs to be dismissed. Mrs. Bushway (Ext. 1131) will then make the call home if she determines that dismissal is warranted.

Also, if you’ve secured a last-minute doctor’s appointment during the school day, please call ahead to Mrs. Farley in the Main Office (Ext. 1320) so that she can prepare a dismissal for your student.
